Need a Recharge!

Well, first, let me just say that today, I realized that yesterday was my 400th post!!! How cool is that??? Maybe when I get to my 500th...I will have a fun giveaway or something!!! :)

I must say that I am throroughly 100% tired. Have you ever had those days? I spent yesterday snapping beans and canning again (and while it canned, I cleaned...hung out laundry etc). I did 14 qts. So far, I have a total of 26 qts of beans canned! :) I am just feeling really super exhausted today. Maybe I will get some energy as I wake up a bit...?

Today I have to take my homeschooling plans and notarized affidavit to the school district so they know that Madelyn won't be at their school for 1st grade! I'm a bit nervous. Not scared...but just wondering how they will react about it. My husband....and his whole extended family have all gone to this school....people are probably going to think I am crazy! LOL Oh well. I just want to do what is best for my kids...and right now, we feel this will be the best!

I have housework to do today as well. That's a never ending job! :) If possible...I am going to rest today and hang with my kids. I feel like I need to recharge! This week I have a bachelorette party to go to (out to dinner and mini golf, i think), then we have the rehearsal and dinner on Friday....and then Saturday is my brother in law's wedding. Chris is the best man, Madelyn is a jr. bridesmaid and I am reading a scripture during the service. Plus... I may have more canning to do this week...AND tomorrow is grocery day. So...this may be my only day to take it easy. (not be a slug...just maybe move a little slower while still getting things done!)

It is truly a blessing to be a wife, mother, and homemaker. Sometimes, though, I must admit...I just plain get pooped out! lol I think we all function better if we can have a little down time to "recharge our batteries" when we can! Don't you?

  1. Yep I agree, sounds like you better take it real easy today, because the rest of your week sounds busy. Hope you and the kids have a super duper restful fun day!

  2. Oh I agree 100% - mom's need to listen to their bodies and recharge. We are better mom's and wives when we do. I feel we need to let our daughter's see that too so they learn that they are as important as anyone else.

So even if you aren't a slug, listen to what your body is telling you and give yourself a break - you'll be glad you did! After all that painting and canning, you deserve it!

  8. if you need me and cory to watch the boys for the wedding - while you're all doing things.. just let me know... (unless there is going to be a nursery?)

the office ladies at the highschool were really nasty to me when i decided to homeschool. well, at the one was. she acted like i couldn't just waltz in and hand in my books. she informed me of the affidavit, etc. and i felt kind of good to tell her that it was already being taken care of and my mom would be in later. made me want to leave even more after she acted like a putz!! hope you have a better experience than i did!!

  9. Yeah you need today to relax, you've been running around for far too long, you have to take care of yourself :)

I have never canned anything LOL Is that awful of me? Quite frankly I wouldn't even know where to begin, maybe you can do a post for us non canning people on how to get started and how to do it? Maybe? LOL

  11. YUP!! I went to bed last night at 8:45--I was exhausted. It hadn't helped that I had the stomach flu for a couple of days. We all need a recharge day now and then--I hope you get one today. Your beans look fabulous. That is so much work--good job!! You deserve a HUGE rest!!! Julie

  15. It's going to be absolutely okay! You don't need to worry about whether the school or anyone else thinks you're crazy. You do what God has called your family to do. You make the best decisions you can with the information and guidance that you have. You and your husband have made this decision for your family. You can trust him. You can trust God.

    Blessings!

  16. We all need to recharge from time to time. And even school begins, you'll need that time too. Don't be afraid or too rigid to allow yourself that time. It will be best for you and the children.

    Smiles,
    Lea
