"May your walls know joy......

...May every room hold laughter and every window open to great possibility."
~Maryanne Radmacher-Hershey

I started sewing. My mom is letting me use her machine because my machine was being difficult! LOL For my first project...I have started to make a play skirt for Madelyn. I used an old pair of her jeans and seperated them and sewed fabric in them to make a cute skirt. I have just started and these are just pictures of it being started......

I still have to sew the fabric in the back....hem the bottom and also finish edges with a finishing stitch to neaten it up. I used a play/old pair of jeans of Madelyn's since it was the first time I have tried this and I didn't want to ruin a good pair of jeans if I messed up! ;o)

Saturday evening, my sister came over for supper....and then my parents and uncle came over for dessert (I made a peach pie and Madelyn made a cake!). While they were over....we watched the kids play the Wii. (It's not our Wii....it's my BIL's and he was letting us borrow it.) They are so funny to watch! :)
(Notice in the pic above of Xavier....his tooth that is growing in...his adult tooth....is pointed. We had an Xray taken of his mouth and other teeth are growing in like that too. The dentist says it is very rare. Someday we will have to have them built up! I just tell X that God intended for him to definitely be a meat eater! hehe!)

And look....my sister brought me a gift! My very first official pair of Crocs! I always used to say I wouldn't wear those shoes cuz they are ugly...but oh my goodness....they are truly comfortable! Thank you sooo much Devon! :)

And another highlight to my weekend...was Saturday night...after everyone had left and the kids were put down to sleep for the night....Chris played a couple games of Scrabble with me! I just love board games and I received this one for Christmas! We had a lot of fun!

We start back with schooling again today! I am sooo looking forward to being back into our routine. The holiday season really threw me off. I wish you all a wonderful Monday! Thanks so much for stopping by, reading, and sharing your thoughts with me! :o) xoxo

I have never tried the Crocs but my girls have and they like them! They are as light as marshmallows!
I love scrabble! We play often! I see that you could spell "diet" "tied" "tide". You sure had a lot of vowels!

Xav's definitely gonna be A STEAK man! His smile and those of your other kidlets melts me!
Love that your sissy got you the crocs. I don't have any either, but I'm a birkenstock girl, and those make my short lil feet look like I'm wearing dutch shoes. I do have a pair of rubber slogger garden clogs that are basically like yours only without the holes and I've lived in em outdoors. Too bad my dog chewed on one.. HE LIKES EM TOO.
    Hugs from the shed
BE BLESSED N BLESS GOD KATY!

  15. I LOVE Scrabble, and my hubby does not!! When we were first married, he played it with me all the time. He says, "TRUE LOVE". What fun memories. We are back to routine, too. I LOVED the down time, but I am enjoying the routine of life again. Have a great day, Katy. Julie

  21. Oh Katy--you will LOVE the sewing machine. My mom was always quilting/sewing when I was growing up. It was funny I panicked about 3 days before I had Alivia. It was a crazy "nesting" moment and I told Ian , "WE HAVE TO GO BUY A SEWING MACHINE!" I had no idea how to sew but couldn't imagine being a mom without a sewing machine. It just seemed so WRONG to me at the time. So, we went to the store right then and bought one. I have used it SO much. From bibs to curtains, baby blankets, and simple hemming. They are awesome!! Good luck as you start to use yours!! Enjoy your Crocs too. They may be ugly but nothing is better for my swollen pregnant feet :)

  25. So you are just begining to sew? It's alot of fun, huh? Pillows, pillowcases, curtains and scrunchies are super easy to make. A personalized burp cloth would be a cute addition when you give away or sell those knitted booties. You can buy a pack of burp cloths..and add ribbon, lace, decorative buttons, patches and all sorts of things. You can even dye them different colors..the dyes are located near the laundry detergents at the store. :) I plan on making some of these soon.

  26. You're sewing! That is exciting. Love the skirt. You'll just be sewing everything if I know you.

I have a pair of pink crocs and I do think they are the ugliest shoes I own. But I wear them anyway!

    Smiles,
    Lea
