"Be kind to thy father......

for when thou wert young, Who loved thee so fondly as he? He caught the first accents that fell from thy tongue, And joined in thy innocent glee."
~Margaret Courtney

Supper dishes were done....*mostly*....and as I stepped into the living room I see.......

...my young little doctors and surgeons! Fixing daddy's aches and pains, in his head, hand and arm!
(NO...Jaxson doesn't wear that shirt ALL the time. (hehe) He wore it the other day and it was in the hamper. After our errands and such yesterday...we came home and as I was making dinner, in comes Jaxson...back in that t-shirt! I asked him why he put that back on and he said "Cause I like it."......so....I figured....OK! ;o)

And a quick couple gifts I wanted to share with you that I received for Christmas. The wooden plate below is a gift from my secret prayer sister at church. As well as praying for me...she has been incredibly giving and thoughtful....leaving me secret gifts and cards. It is so sweet and encouraging! :)

And...from my aunt...I got this Mary Engelbreit cookie jar. Yes...it is a cookie jar...and yes, I have it in my bathroom...LOL! But if you have seen my bathroom before...you will remember it is a Mary E. theme...and the cookie jar just fits perfectly!!!! If you haven't seen my bathroom and want to....you can click HERE for some pics!

Happy Thursday! I hope you are all having a wonderful week!!!! xoxo

  2. Katy, I love the plate from your secret prayer sister and the cookie jar looks great on your sink...I've been known to put things in the bathroom that you wouldn't normally find there.

    Take care...

  5. Katy, Your blog is so sweet, I enjoy reading about your family. I had to laugh about the kids fixing up daddy, because, last night, our granddaughter "fixed up" her grampy. I'm not sure what he was saying but she got into an old trunk (full of my grandma's old bads etc.) in our livingroom, comes back with a handful of stuff. Grampy got a massage on his ears, and then ear rings, (I think she was trying to throw him off gaurd with the massage part, so he wold notice or feel the earrings going on.) Then his forhead got rubbed, afterwards, a crown made of pink and blue beads. It was cute, we were all laughing, and you have to know my hubby, he is a big kid himself, with a wonderful sense of humor, between our granddaughter "fixing him" and his jokes back we all left the table in tears and our faces hurt from all the laughter. P.S. I have pictures of this on my cell phone, as, I told him, I was going to post it on my blog. I wouldn't do that, but it was a good time, and reading your post just made me think of this. LOL

  8. Your kids are so sweet! I love, love the beg board border in your bathroom. I'm wanting to redo my bathroom and do something like that, but I can't picture in my mind how it can be done.

Anyway, I think the cookie jar in your bathroom is great! Great place for Q-tips or cotton balls, etc. ;)

  15. Oh how cute. Todd won't let Jessie and Tyler play doctor on him after they told him to stick out his toungue and they stuck a 9V battery to is (Tyler has a wierd fasciniation with these things - he can stick them to his toungue and feel nothing). Or he will let them play doctor, and refuse to open his mouth. And I have that same plate - love it!
