Some Kitchen Redo Pics

So...for some reason when I am sick with a cold or something...I feel better if I am doing stuff. If I sit...I get a headache. So today I started to reorganize and move things around in my kitchen.

To see some BEFORE pics....you can click HERE. Just some little changes can make a huge difference. I must say...I HATE the area behind my stove. It's hard to clean and just a useless and annoying space. Finally...I have moved some things and am trying to decorate back there and make it look a little better!

And yes...there are dishes drying in my sink....I am just me....doing what I can. LOL Just a normal mom....who stays busy. My sink and counters don't always look perfect. I'm just keeping it real!

This is my 2nd post for today!!! hehe...so if you haven't yet...make sure you check out my previous post! It's worth it...sweet sleeping kids are the best!!! :o) xoxo

  2. I'm the same way, when I'm sick I always feel better when I'm doing stuff, hope your feeling better soon. I like your kitchen, that wasted space as you call it can be decorated up cute, a big spice rack maybe, or a bunch of tins arranged? I also think your cabinets would look great black, maybe a prim black, roughed up in spots? Just a thought, I'm almost done with our new place and still full of ideas, hope you didn't mind! Take care, get well!

  3. Your kitchen looks very cheerful and nice..know what you mean about the space behind the oven...its hard to know what to do with it, huh? It looks nice the way it is but do the things there get greasy? Maybe your fan works better than ours...

  6. I love your kitchen - I would love a red kitchen, but Todd freaks out any time I mention color. And you've given me a fabulous idea - the door fell off one side of the cupboard under my kitchen sink - I could take the other one off (until Todd gets round to fixing it sometime in the next century) and put a curtain up. Thanks for the inspiration!

  10. Hope all this work makes you feel better---LOL.... My Kitchen is red, too; but a cranberry red. So I love the red. My daughter is a freak for clean counters but I love to have my stuff out where I can see it. I know it's not correct to love things but I do!!!I collect all kinds of kitchen things and I love everyone of them.
Yours is awesome. Love that island. I don't have room for one.......

  13. Love your home Katy...everything looks so nice and prim! I also love the skirt under your sink, I did that once, not here but in my first marriage. I had a navy blue checked homespun and then a barn red one!
Hope you are feeling better today!

  14. Hi Katy,

I just wanted to stop by and say that I've followed your blog since it began. I am so impressed with how you have kept up with your great blog. So many give up so fast, and you kept going. BRAVO! You truly are a great blogger, and I admire that. I am always so busy with work, and with getting ready for my PSP Magazine feature that I cannot find time to enjoy my home decor as much as I use to. I wanted to let you know that your blog has inspired me to begin my kitchen project that I've put off for about a year now.

Behind the stove looks nice, but my first thought was maybe utilize that area to show off some country utensils and crockery/pottery. You can never go wrong with having your wooden spoons, and more in that area... I had a corner stove like that many years ago, and I had a few pieces of pottery to hold my wood spoons and more. I had the center set as the items I actually would use while cooking and the rest was just for decoration. Might be an idea?

Two thumbs up on your blog. I'll be back to visit again soon.
