Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice!


Cookies anyone? :o) Yesterday, I saw the weather was to be rainy and dreary for today...so I mixed up sugar cookie dough and put it in the fridge! Today...after schooling, I had to go to my mom's to make some copies at her office and she invited Madelyn to stay and hang out with her for the afternoon. So, the boys and I came home, ate lunch and then Jaxson took a nap. After his nap...the boys and I rolled out and cut out the sugar cookies!!!


After the cookies cooled...it was time to decorate!!!!


Theatrics....hehehe!
Finished cookies! Didn't they do a great job? Tonight...we are going to my MIL's to blanche/freeze corn. She is making everyone supper...so I said I would bring the dessert!!! Sugar cookies for everyone!!!! Woooohooooo!!!!

Nothing better than tasting your sweet efforts!!!!


Hope you all are having a super nice Tuesday! We will have a busy evening...but working together with family will make it fun! :o) (And tasting fresh sweet corn in the middle of winter makes all the hard work sooooo worth it!) I hope your day has been as sweet as mine! xoxo

    My girls love to make sugar cookies--I about go nuts with all the toppings and frosting everywhere, but I grin and have a great time. It looks like you did, too. julie

    Making and decorating cookies was one of our fav things to do when the kids were young. They always seemed to taste better when they made them!

    The kids look like they`re having a blast:) My kids love to make sugar cookies. It usually takes forever to clean up the mess afterwords, but they really enjoy it!! Thanks for sharing the pics!! hope you get alot of corn done at your MIL`s and I hope you have a blessed time with your family!

    They did a GREAT job!!! Yummy!!! I have tomatoes to can the next few days!! I've already chopped and froze several quarts of summer squash, and canned bread and butter pickles and made homemade salsa and canned that!! I am so enjoying it!! Have a great night!~Wendy

    Katy, those are the things yours boys will remember. It looks like a lot of fun. I have a good friend that was a super fun MoM to 4 little ones. Three months after her last one was born she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her kids were 13,11, 5 and 2 when she passed, but one of my favorite stories from her oldest daughter was one day she was taken her to school and it was raining and Yona just pulled over and asked her daughter if she wanted to play in the rain. So they spent and hror so just playing in the rain. What a memory she has of her mom. When it rains I think of her. make great memories for your kids. Dawn

    I have so many sweet memories of making cookies with my Mama, with my daughter and now with my grandaughter!

    Every time I visit your sweet blog, I miss my children when they were young!{: We also used to make sugar cookies and also play dough. We had so much fun. You bring back all those sweet memories! Your little ones are precious. Blessings, Kathleen
