*School Days*

After a short summer break, the children and I are back to our school routine. We started some last week and are continuing this week. It is *so* nice to get back into a routine. I must admit, though, that the break was really nice too.

We are using the new (inexpensive) planners I ordered for this year. So far, they are working nicely. I don't actually "plan" this year...I just record what we do, day by day, as we go. You can see my post on these planners HERE. I used my label maker (oh, I love my label maker) to put each child's name on the front of the (not-so-lovely) cover...

As I had posted previously, we are using Easy Peasy for everything except math. For math, we are continuing to use Christian Light Education...

When do your children go back to school (or start their homeschool year)?

Have a great week!!!

  1. We'll be starting next week. I printed a few things out for each of my kids on Easy Peasy already... I'm antsy to get started!

    Blessings, Jessica

  2. Our local school starts in two weeks, my daughter is always excited to see a new school - a fresh starts she says. Love the pictures of the kid's - such rosy, healthy cheeks!

  3. I always love to stock up on pencils and crayons and paper! I guess I just love to learn and grow. Our boys do not go back till hunting season is over ( Archery)
Blessings to you my dear friend! Roxy

  4. We are going back into the routine soon. Grade 9 and 11 this year and hard to believe I have been doing this for 28 years. I can still well remember the first crisp fall morning and the smell of new books that I ordered for 3 year old Dave. Now he has four children of his own. The years fly and it is a bit bittersweet this year because I know my time as homeschool mom is drawing to a close in a heartbeat. I have been so blessed to be able to do this.

  5. We started back on Monday...needed the routine back and I enjoy being able to take the entire month of December off to relax and fully embrace and enjoy the Christmas season with my kiddos! I have to say that I am definitely more relaxed than the previous 3 years but still not as relaxed as I want to be...still a work in progress and the Lord is really working on my heart and helping me to recognize His will for our daily living. I just need to learn to trust Him I said, a work in progress and so grateful for it! Blessings to your family as you begin another year!

  6. Wow - starting school already? We don't begin again until September!
I'd love to read more about how you use Easy Peasy. It looks amazing! How do you use it with all your children? Do you print things off? And do you know the difference between English and Language Arts? Thanks!

  7. Home schooling wasn't a big thing when my kids were small, if i had it all to do over i would definitely go with the home schooling. i think it would be very rewarding to teach your children.

  8. We start on September 8. I am also going to be using Christian Light Education for Math (grade 3). I don't have the addition/subtraction flash cards though and I'm wondering how each letter set is set up. Is there anyway you can email me and let me know. I don't have the money to order them, so I want to make my own. I would appreciate it very much if you could email me with the information so I can make sure my son has them with his books. My email address is Thank you so much!
