After Four Months...

I am very excited to be able to say I have lost 40 pounds, by the grace of God. I am continuing this journey...as I intend on keeping these healthy practices for the rest of my life, Lord willing. It's a bit  (read: very) embarrassing posting photos of yourself...but people have asked so now that I have lost a bit, I have some confidence to take and show a few. I felt silly...but it is what it is. The shirt I am wearing is a bit baggy, probably not the best idea to take photos in *to show weight loss* but I did this all on a whim (I know my sister is totally going to make fun of me!).... gosh, this is embarrassing...

Since my shirt is so loose, I tried to gather it a bit in the back to show that I *am* smaller...

And I *know* this photo below is completely not feminine of me...but I can't help it...I am so excited to see the muscle definition in my arms (Devon is going to make fun of me for this photo too!) ; P. I'm not trying to "bulk up" in any way...but my muscles are growing and defining with the exercising and strength training I am doing! My leg muscles are growing too...but I didn't think photographing them for the internet was very appropriate!

So there you have it...40 pounds gone...another 40 to go (actually, to meet my original goal weight, I only have 33 pounds more to lose). I will do pics again like this *after* the next 40 pounds are gone! ;)

The only before pic I really have from recently would be from the end of April, when Chris and I went to Ohio...

Oh goodness...it may take me a while to publish this post...I am quite nervous about doing it. But once I do...there's no turning back.....oh the anxiety of it all. Ok...I'm going to do it....yes...soon...please be kind....I know I still have more to lose.....okay...here we go...

Warmly,
 Katy

  3. You look great! It is always so difficult to put yourself out there in the fore front. It can be easy to be behind the lens instead of in front of it. As Dory would say in Nemo.. "just keep swimming swimming"!!!

  4. Katy, way to go girlfriend you are looking so good. I am not sure if you posted how you changed your eating and any tips you have to share on it but if you did forgive me and maybe you will lead me to the post.

I too am on a journey to change my eating habits and to continue losing weight. I have lost about 40lbs in a year and I want to get on this much better. I am walking since I am not close to a gym to go to and we only have the one car so I can't go. Any tips you can share would certainly be helpful for me and continue to do such a great job. What a wonderful example you are to so many.

  24. Katy....Congratulations!!!! WOW you are doing great!! I read an article the other day, it was titled something like "Homeschooling & Motherhood: What I Wish I would've Done Differently".....it was written by an older Mom, who only had 1 (out of several) child left at home. One of her #1 bits of advice/encouragement....was to take the time to take care of yourself/the temple of God. You are doing that....and you look wonderful and I'm sure you're feeling the benefits of added energy and good health! :) Way to goooo!!!

  25. Just agreeing with the other posters. AMAZING job! You SHOULD be proud of yourself! You've accomplished something major for yourself and your family. You might not think of yourself as inspiring to others, but you are. I appreciate and understand the work and effort. Keep up the good work and you'll be at your goal before you know it! Persevere!
