A Peek into my Faith Journal

I thought it would be fun to show you some photos of some of the pages of my faith journal...

It's just full of thoughts, quotes and wisdom gleaned from the Bible and books I love!

My drawings were sub-par below...but I was using a pen and not trying to make them perfect. I just wanted a general sketch down to represent the Armor of God...

It has been a *long* day! Supper is in the crock pot (chicken) thankfully! We had our homeschool co-op class day today. It's an enjoyable but *long* day! I came home to do some dusting and organizing of our school stuff. Now I need to prepare to go in to teach an exercise class at the Y tonight (for anyone who wonders ~ that is a volunteer thing I do. I was trained for it but I don't get paid to do it).

We have another busy day tomorrow.....with a gym & swim planned with other homeschooling families at the Y, homeschooling for the kiddos (while I do housework) and the boys have music lessons tomorrow as well. :) Full but joy-filled days are great!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the pages of my faith journal. :) Thanks for visiting! I hope you had a lovely Monday (it poured here last night and this morning but thankfully it has cleared up and is nice out...although day is turning to dark quite quickly now!).

Quickly...I wanted to share this *super* sweet youtube channel I found called Sounds like Reign. They have a lot of videos there but started another channel for their vlogs called Tiny Notes from Home. You simply must check them out! You will be blessed! :)

Warmly,
Katy

  1. Impressive... Another post though to add more to insult (Referring to journal writings. Words regarding being a godly woman, submissive wife related comments meant for any so called feminists that may be reading). A Titus 2 woman is meant to teach and encourage the younger woman on how to live. She is much older with more wisdom. She has lived a godly life being a godly wife and Mother. Most likely her husband may have passed, and her children are grown;leaving her more time to invest in those that God leads her to instruct. I am so pleased Katy that you know the Lord and serve your Husband and family. Keep focusing on what the Lord wants you to do for your family. Meanwhile...grow in wisdom. Your time will come to one day be a Titus 2 woman. My fear is that some who are not strong in the Lord will be put off by your tone when referring to a feminist woman. Do you want to be seen RIGHT in God's eyes or mans? “On your best day you can only control you.” You can’t control others, but you can control your responses to others."-Wisdom

  2. This is not an insulting post as Anonymous is saying. This is encouraging to myself. I love the way that you, Katy, share your journals and your life. I love the fact that you are so serving to your family. I love the way you love your family and I am so blessed by the way you share these things.

    1. Thank you Regina! I've been keeping a faith journal for over a year (I forget the exact time I started it). I don't write in it daily or anything though! I don't usually write in dates or anything either....just quotes, verses and such that I want to remember! :)

  5. I did enjoy looking at your pages. I wish I had the discipline to do that. Do you have a certain Bible study that you do or is it just random, as you feel led? I would love to find a study that would hold my interest and block out all of the other "stuff" that swirls through my head like a tornado! LoL ADD is not study friendly!

    Thanks for sharing your journal!

    Grace & Peace,

    1. Hi Pam! :) I do different studies...but mostly I just READ, READ, READ. :) I read the Bible daily and then read biblically solid books on being a woman, wife, mother, helpmeet, homemaker etc. I also read books about God (theology). Have you ever read "The Excellent Wife" by Martha Peace? It is really good! As is "homemaking" by JR Miller and "the mother at home" by John SC Abbott! :) They aren't specific studies....just biblically solid books!

  8. Thanks for sharing... what a great idea! I might just have to pick up a sketchbook to start doing this. I have favorite quotes from books I read... and of course, scripture. It would be nice to have them all recorded in one spot to look back on. I would hope that maybe one day I could pass it along to one of my children to encourage them! Did you see this idea somewhere or just start to do it on your own?

    1. I am sure I have seen it before but I didn't see something specific and decide to do it. I just know journaling my thoughts never works for me...but I wanted a central location for quotes and scriptures that really convicted and encouraged me! :) Thus this little notebook was born!
