*The Snow*

Folding the earth in its mantle
Pure and undefiled,
Soft in its own clear whiteness
As the cheek of an innocent child,
The snow o'er the world is falling,
It floats upon the air,
Silent, yet ever restless,
As a child's hands crossed in prayer.

Like a benediction descending
O'er the sin-stained weary world,
It falls in tender pity,
Its mantle o'er all unfurled.
Oh, Father in Heaven above us,
Thy goodness and Thy love
Descend like a silent spirit,
Like a pure and spotless dove.

This world is a myst'ry of sorrow,
And dark with sin and woe;
Over its toil and sadness
Thy mantle of mercy throw.
Fold us about, protect us
In Thy garment, spotless white,
As the snow in its silent falling
Is shrouding the earth tonight.

We have been getting a lot of snow lately. We are thankful to be inside...warm and cozy!

Long icicles have been forming on the house...

Inside...we have been bread-making...

giving lots of TLC to Jaxson who had a bout with the stomach bug...

and schooling...

I have been praying over our family...that Jaxson heals well and that no one else gets sick. If you remember us in your is much appreciated! So far, Jaxson has been feeling better (as he got sick yesterday)...and no one else seems to be ill...but only time will tell.

I hope you are enjoying the snow, as well. I am sure I will be quite tired of it in another month or so...but for now, I enjoy being snug in my home with the ones I love. :)

    We are enjoying our snow here too. We got about 5 inches. So pretty and not enough to be a problem!

  3. I am praying for your sweet little boy that he gets well soon and that no one else gets the stomach bug. We did get some snow here in NC on Monday but we got more ice and sleet then anything. I too love being in the house on a cold wintery day with my family cozied up with a good book and reading aloud to one another. I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed us to have a roof over our head from the elements, warm clothes to put on and warm food that makes the tummy smile.

  4. We are enjoying it a bit, but we do love to be outside and with the 20 degree (or less) temps it is hard to do so! Hope Jax gets better.

  5. We are enjoying the same here:) made 5 loaves of bread today and we built a snowman and went for a winter walk:) Now soup is on...

  6. Yes i will say a prayer for you all. It would be an honor. We are enjoying our snow days here too. We don't get it often so it is so much fun!

  8. We've had a nice abount of snow here, too. Praying for Jaxon and especially you. When mine are ill, I get very little rest. I'm sure it is the same for you.

  9. Our snow is finally melting and hopefully it will warm up enough to get rid of all the ice. It's been fairly hazardous here.
    I hope you and your family are all well and that Jaxson has had a full recovery.
