Which Jesus Do You Follow???

(Remember to turn the music off on the top of the left sidebar first!) I encourage you to watch this video above. (not with the kids around...it is graphic in some parts with clips from the Passion Of The Christ) It brought me to tears. It uses the song "My Jesus" by Todd Agnew. It is a wonderful song and really makes you think and cry out to Jesus for forgiveness.
I love Jesus. He is my Savior. He died for me....He died so I can get to Heaven...even though I don't deserve it. I want to serve My Jesus. If this song and this video doesn't put a fire in your heart for Him...I don't know what would. For anyone who reads this and doesn't believe...please know that he didn't have to do that. He didn't have to die. But he did...for you..and me.
I pray that each one who reads this let's God's spirit in and is set on fire for Christ! If you want prayer or someone to talk to...Please leave me your email in my comments...and I will gladly pray for you and talk with you. I want the whole world to know God's love for them and set the Earth aglow with His love.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

A Thank You and Weight Loss Update!

Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

The scripture above was the verse that a few of you thought of when reading the previous post about my husband's Romania mission trip. The fact that a couple of you felt the need to share that verse with me speaks volumes...and I truly appreciate it. I also thank each of you for your words, care and prayers. It means so much to me and my family. THANK YOU!!!! xoxo

**Also...just a quick update on my weight loss....today marks the end of my 4th week on weight watchers. I lost another 2 lbs this week...so that is a total of 14 lbs lost in these past 4 weeks! I am thrilled and just sticking to it!!! How are those of you who are losing weigh with me doing?

**Things have been so busy lately....if I haven't been by your blog to comment lately...I truly apologize. I haven't checked my bloglines in quite a while. I haven't been on the computer that much and haven't had time to check blogs...but I will definitely be around at one time or another soon!!! xoxo

Countdown to Romania!

As I had mentioned previously, my husband, Chris, is going on a mission trip to Romania. He will be going there for 12 days. It was going to be 10 days...but they would have had to take different flights and layovers. If they left a day earlier and came home a day later...they would be able to get direct flights there and back home...that was easier and so that is what the team leaders decided to do.
He will be leaving in 22 days. I know he is nervous. Nervous to fly (he has never flown before..let alone over the Atlantic ocean!), nervous to leave us for almost 2 weeks, and nervous to be somewhere he has never been before. I am nervous for all the same reasons for him....and nervous to be taking care of house, kids, animals etc all while he is gone! Plus...i have NEVER been away from him this long.
Chris and I trust God's plans and that He will take care of us. I really feel this is God's plan for Chris to go over and I feel we both can learn many lessons from it. We are both making journals of our time away from each other. I will tell him what the kids and I did each day, how we are doing, how i am feeling etc.
He was able to raise (through fundraising and generous donations from family and friends) all his money to go. I ask for your prayers for him...and for me as well. This will be difficult for each of us. So, please remember us during your prayer time. I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much! :o)
I hope you are all having a fantastic week!!! ** Tomorrow is Weigh In day!!! WOOT!!!**

My New Gazebo & Chalkboard Tray

My mom and I had gone to Big Lots the other day and found a GREAT deal on a gazebo!!! It is fantastic and will work perfectly for M's birthday party in July. (We are doing a luah theme) I hope to get some lounge chairs and a nice table for in there...sometime. Gotta wait for the perfect price! Chris and I put it together the other night! :)

Then, below, is a picture of the old tray I painted with blackboard paint. I have it hanging in my kitchen! It will be a good place for quick notes etc! I am really happy with how it turned out! Now I just need to finish the blackboard window (for homeschooling) that I showed HERE.

I made two posts today...this one and the one before this. I hope you will check them both out!!! Have a GREAT day!!! xoxo

Chalkboard and Odds and Ends!

Here is the old window that I painted with the chalkboard paint. It only has one coat of the paint on at the moment though...I need to do another coat as well! I will take pics after I do that and with chalk written on it! I also painted an older wooden tray I had so I can hang it in the kitchen for notes etc that we wanted to write on it!!! It turned out perfect! I will be sure to take a pic to post of that too! And...a pic of an old milk can I have outside. I just love it! Old, rustic and looks so great outside!

LOOK! These are what "the girls" are doing to my hosta!!! (the girls=the chickens) Isn't it horrible?? I haven't planted any new flowers in my gardens for fear that the chickens will eat them!!! ACK!!! Anyone have any suggestions/advice on how I can stop this from happening??

And ~ M made this self portrait of herself at school...I thought it was great! So I had to share a pic with you!! This is her last week of school! On Thursday, they are going on a field trip...so that should be a lot of fun for them! I know she has enjoyed this year of Kindergarten at the school...but I think once we start homeschooling..that she will really enjoy that as well!!! :o)

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day as we remember those who are and who did fight for our country, our freedom and our lives! xoxo

Glow From Your Home ~ In Action

Our neighbors from across the street, who we just love, have a small care home with 6 residents there who are all older women. One of those women is my great grandmother...so great great grandmother to my children.

Today, while up at Lowe's getting the blackboard chalk, I also picked up pots, petunias and marigolds. I had extra potting soil here at home. When M got home from school....we all went outside and potted each plant...one for each lady at the care home.

Alot of people in care homes don't go outside much...so the kids and I thought we would bring outside in to them! All the ladies seemed to love it. I didn't take a pic of that though....not too sure they would want their pics on the internet! :o)

However, I did take some pics to share with you all!

On our way over.....The plants we potted.....

Again....on our way over.....

Knock! Knock!
On our way back home!!!!

Sending plants to others is a great way to glow from your home! Potting them yourself and having your kids learn from the experience is wonderful as well! If you don't have a personal care home around your area...you can always do this for your neighbors as well! People really seem to appreciate it and it is a way to show you care. Outreaching and showing you are interested in giving joy is a way to share God's love!

If you are new to my blog and haven't heard about Glow From Your Home...please go HERE for my post about it. Also you can click the Glow From Your Home category to the left to see all my posts about it!

What are some ways you Glow? Have you glowed this week? I would love to hear all about it!
(Another great idea is to bake! I made cupcakes earlier this week and M and I took them over to the ladies as well!)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!! :o)

Our School Room!

The past few weeks I have been sorting through toys and moving come to the kids' bedrooms etc. I have done this in order to make the "playroom" a "schoolroom". Eventually...as more changes and improvements are done to our house...our schoolroom will move...but this is it's place for now.

I have kept books, blocks, trucks, farm toys, musical toys, and crayons with coloring books all in the room...neatly organized! In the top pic, on the wall to the right of the pic...is where I will hang the blackboard I plan on making and also those learning calendars (that have the month, date, day, year, weather, etc on them for kids)...and also some way of displaying the kids' artwork! As I get curriculum and more teaching supplies...I am sure the shelves will become much fuller...but I will try and keep some order and organization to it!!! I just wanted to share our homeschool area with everyone! If you homeschool.....or just have a favorite area you would like to share with us...I would love to see it! Let me know in the comments if you post one and I will be sure to check it out!!! Hope you are all having a fantastic week!

**And thank you sooo much for all your encouragement on my weight loss!!!

**Also, please remember to keep the Steven Curtis Chapman family in your prayers....I am sure you all have heard of the sad accidental death of his youngest daughter. If you haven't...you can read about it here.

Weight Loss Progress!

So.....today was weigh in day again! I am sooo excited to report that I have lost another 3.5 lbs! That is a total of 12 lbs in 3 weeks!!!! I know that weight always comes off quicker at the beginning...but I am still thrilled! I have really been sticking with this and seeing the results so far is so gratifying! I am halfway to my first goal of losing 24 lbs!!! YAY!!!

I know God wants me to be healthy...and I have prayed to Him through this entire journey so far...and I thank Him constantly for the strength and help He gives. I give Him all the glory because I couldn't do it without Him. I have tried before....and always quit. Right now, I am still going strong and will continue to stay in prayer about it.

"I can do ALL things through Him who strengthens me" ~ Phillipians 4:13

The Decision To Homeschool

Well, it has been hard and stressful...but through prayer and talking with my husband...we have decided...for sure...to give homeschooling a try. M is almost done with Kindergarten at her school...and then starting this summer/fall...I will be officially homeschooling her. I will also start X with some stuff...actually I already have. We do a couple workbooks...and I don't push him. However, he seems to really enjoy doing it. We don't do it every day....but just work on it here and there. He is 4...so I am not pushing anything too hard. I will get a curriculum to get him started on too once I get M's figured out.

Figuring out what curriculum and books I want is going to be hard. I am hoping to find places with great prices..even on used books. I am on the lookout for pre-K, Kgarten and 1st grade materials....any suggestions? I am nervous, excited, and scared all at once! I pray this is the best thing for our children! I just want the absolute best for them.

So....all you homeschooling mamas out there....I could use advice, ideas, suggestions etc!!! Please just nothing too negatively based...I don't want to freak myself out before I have really started!! LOL

OH~ and I was at my friend, Tori's house last night and she has this really cool chalkboard hanging in her kitchen. I told her how much I loved it...and she told me how she made it!!! She took an old window and spray painted it (2 coats) with black chalkboard paint!!! It is sooo great and I am so TOTALLY going to do that!!! When I do...I will be sure to take pics and post about it!

I hope you are all having a fantastic week and thank you all for the wonderful comments you always send my way. You each put a smile on my face!!! Happy Wednesday!!! xoxo

Making Jelly!

So my SIL (sister in law)...well..she is almost my SIL...her and my hubby's bro are getting married in August....anyway...we went to my inlaws' meat market (they have LOTS of space in there) and learned to make jelly with my MIL (mother in law). We made 2 batches of grape jelly...and then my SIL and I got to each take home half. We watched my MIL make some peach jam too. This was the first time I ever made jelly!!! It wasn't too hard at all! :) I enjoyed it!

We have a ton of blackberry bushes out behind our house....and when they are in season...i plan on making a bunch of blackberry jam as Christmas gifts!!! In the meantime...I will probably get some peaches too when they are in season and make some peach jam!!! It looked soo yummy! I know I am on WW and jelly is full of sugar...but I think a tablespoon on a piece of toast every now and then won't hurt me... ;o)

***********

OH....and I have to tell ya...on Saturday night...chris and I went OUT!!! WOOT! It was great! We got supper at Subway. Then we met our friends Chris and Heather at the bowling alley and bowled for a couple hours! It was a lot of fun! Then we picked the kids up from my inlaws' house and came home...by this time it was after 9pm...so we put the kiddos to bed and then talked with chris and heather and played Wii for a couple hours! It was a fantastic time! It's so fun to get to do that every once in a while. It's such great fellowship!

I hope you all had an absolutely lovely weekend! It's naptime right now...so I am off to read your blogs and hear how you all are doing!!!! Happy Monday!!! xoxo

I fell into a burnin' ring of fire.....

My husband loves to listen to Johnny Cash! So....the love has carried on with our children....and I just HAD to take the chance and snap a pic of them dancing to "Ring Of Fire" by Johnny Cash. It was just too cute and fun! (yes..they are all still in their jammies....it's Saturday...LOL) I just had to share this pic with you!!! Have a wonderful weekend! xoxo

Horseback Riding!

The other evening, my mom took the kids horseback riding on some of her horses. In these pics...the kids are all riding on Coby. Sorry they are so small...my sister emailed them to me and these are the size they are! LOL These pics were taken in my sister's front lawn...but that isn't her house in the top pic..that is her neighbors! My mom is leading M in the first pic...then below is J and then X is at the bottom!

They really enjoyed it! Although, J was super scared. But now he tells everyone that he "rode Coby"! That evening, I wasn't there...Chris and I had gone to pick up a truck that he is hoping to fix up (another project...hehe). So Devon took these pics to share with me...and I thought it would be nice to share them with you...even though they are small. LOL

OH!!! And yesterday was my "weigh in day"! I went to my dr's office and got weighed...and...i lost another 3 lbs!!!! WOOT!!!! That is a total of 8.5 in 2 weeks! To God be the glory. I know it is He who is my strength in all this! Finally.....the extra weight is coming OFF!!! Hope you all have an absolutely wonderful friday and a blessed weekend!!! xoxo

Created To Be His Help Meet.

So I finished the book "Unveiling Mary Magdalene" by Liz Curtis Higgs....super good book and I recommend it highly!!! I won another book called "Created to Be His Help Meet" by Debi Pearl from a giveaway at The Adventures Of MomLady. I started reading it yesterday and so far I like it and it has convicted me and made me realize a lot. I have already been praying about things that I notice I fail in with my marriage.

I must admit, though, I am a little on guard with this book...I have heard and read a few negative things about it. I will continue to read it though...and last night, I prayed that God would help me to discern of anything not of Him in the book and to let me learn from things that ARE from Him in the book. So far, I am only like, 50 pages into it, I think....and I am liking it. I was wondering if any of you have read it. I would love to know your opinions on it if you have! (good or bad!)

I have also been reading "The Postcard" by Beverly Lewis. (I usually read a fiction and non fiction book at the same time). I am about 100 pages into it or so...and of course, loving it. I think I love ALL of Beverly Lewis' books! LOL

Well...it's Thursday... Weigh In Day for me!!! WOOT! I hope I have lost more!!!! Cross those fingers!!!! :o) I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful day!!! xoxo

Country Friends ~ Good Times

I love Gooseberry Patch Books! Well, I found this book on sale at a local store this past weekend! I was so excited! It has great ideas, recipes and more! It is seperated into parts like:
Bosom Buddies, Girl's Night Out, Free Time...etc.
Here's a picture of one of the inside pages ~

It has gift ideas, craft ideas, seasonal ideas, fellowship ideas, roadtrip ideas, quotes and sayings and lots, lots more!!! It is really fun to read! I totally plan on trying some of the ideas included in the book. When I do...I will be sure to share them with you! :o)

Playdoh fun!!!

So....actually, it is the cheapie form of playdoh...LOL. I like playdoh better...but the cheapie stuff...if dropped on the carpet....doesn't stick as bad! LOL The boys had a ton of fun with it! This was last week! Don't mind X's clothes....I had him in jeans...but he insisted on putting on these marroon pants cuz they "looked better". And hey...anyone seen J? I think he's hiding!!! teehee!

I have to say...I LOVE things like playdoh, blocks, legos etc. Things that have a child create and use their imaginations...just awesome! And I got that cheapie playdoh for $3 for like, 6 containers of it! I think that is a small price to pay for the expanding of a child's imagination!!! Don't you think?

I have started the transformation of the playroom into the schoolroom! I am really excited! (and nervous) Most of the kids' toys have been dispersed neatly in their rooms...and some has been bagged up for yard sale or Goodwill. When the transformation is finished...i will take and post pics!!! Happy Tuesday everyone! xoxo

My Mother's Day!

It was raining here yesterday....but despite the weather, I had a lovely mother's day! First...the pic above is a drawing of me! My 6 yr old daughter, M drew it for me at school!!!! Isn't it great!? I was sooo impressed! :o)
We went to Sunday School and Church yesterday. It was a great message and I always enjoy the fellowship and such with our church family! Then came home for a quick lunch. Then the kids took a nap. I decided to take a nap too...LOL. With it raining and being the Sabbath...I just felt like resting....so I came up and read ( I finished the Liz Curtis Higgs Book...and started "the Postcard" by Beverly Lewis). And I fell asleep....you want to know how long I slept?? 4 hours!!!! I woke up at 6:40pm!!! I have never slept like that in the middle of the day!!! I must have needed it! I felt weird though....like most of the day was gone then! LOL
When I got up....M had made me this card...all on her own ~

Isn't it great??? I absolutely LOVE it!!! And she did it 100% by herself! I thought that was just great! :) Then....for my official mother's day gift.....Chris and the kids came out with this:

M~
X~
J~
They had drawn around their bodies and colored them in and made me this HUGE poster telling me how much they love me!! Where's the kleenex?? Isn't that soo sweet? I just love it! And the kids were soooo excited to give it to me. It made my heart melt!!! Aren't I completely blessed???

So I had a wonderful Mother's Day!!!! I hope you all did as well!!! Happy Monday!!! xoxo

Pink Ric Rac is having a giveaway on their blog. She is giving away a cute little coin purse!!! If you want to enter....check out the post HERE and make sure you follow the instructions!! :) YAY!!! :o)

Weight Loss Success!

Well...as some of you may remember...I joined weight watchers last week! Well, Thursdays are my weigh in day...and so I stopped at my dr's office yesterday to get weighed. I like it to be official...I don't own a scale here at home....cuz with my old wood floors that are uneven etc...I never get a true amount. So that is why I go to my dr and get weighed on their scale.

So, I get on the scale...praying that I at least lost a pound or two...just so I don't get discouraged cuz I have been really sticking to this. Well...turns out...I lost 5.5 lbs!!!! WOOT! Now...I know that 1. it is not all pure fat that I lost and 2. that I am not going to lose that much each week. But I think it is a definite start and to God be the glory!!! I have prayed about this...and I know His hand is in it and helping me. I can do ALL things through Him who strengthens me! (Phil. 4:13)

My husband has been super encouraging...as well as my sister, who is doing this along with me! I also have a great group of friends that have been sooo supportive and encouraging all through this! I thank God that he put all these people in my life. They have been such a blessing to me.

So...I just really wanted to share my news with you all. You all have also been so supportive and encouraging to me....and I am soo thankful for you!!! :o) I hope this isn't seen as bragging at all....or prideful. This is just a way for me to get excited about this and stay motivated!

**I also wanted to add...if my blog looks cut off to you...i am so sorry!!! Sometimes it take a lil bit to load....so you may have to refresh it or something. I use the Firefox Web Browser, and I can see it all. I hope you can too and I apologize if you can't!!!! xoxo

Priorities...NOT interruptions.

I don't know about you...but I tend to say "not right now" or "in a bit" or "just a minute" to my kids a lot. I am always in the middle of "doing" something...whether it be dishes, laundry, cooking, other housework or even reading. I sometimes tend to treat my children as if they are interruptions...rather than priorities!!!

I have been reading "The Mom Your Meant To Be" by Cheri Fuller. (I read a couple books at once...as you can probably notice..LOL). And one of the points she makes is to see your kids as your priorities...not interruptions. Sure...i would say my kids are a priority to me...and they are....but how often do I brush them aside when I feel they are "interrupting" me? Way toooo often! This book has really opened my eyes to things and brought me close to tears and repenting to God and asking for His help to be a better mother.

What is more important? Washing that next dish or joyfully listening to the new song my daughter made up?

Now, obviously if we, mothers, gave our kids 100% of our attention, 100% of the day...the housework would NEVER get done! LOL And that is certainly not what I mean. I just know that for myself I am always seeming "too busy" for them. I see many ways in which I can give my kids loving attention...even if it means putting aside something else I am doing.

HERE is a good link by Cheri Fuller about Delighting In Your Children! I encourage you to read it if you have a tendency to do as I do. I will be praying about this issue in my life and making the choice to listen to my kids and make sure they are a priority! :0)

If you struggle with this...i would love to hear about it...or if you don't have this struggle...please share with us ways you get your housework done as well as give your children the attention they need!!! THANK YOU!!!

Living On The Edge....

OK, so X went to hang with my mom and "work" with her and my dad at my dad's garage. (My mom does the office stuff). I took J with me and we went to do a little shopping. I got a bday gift for my FIL and got a Mother's Day gift for my MIL...but I haven't found anything for my mom yet...she is soo hard to buy for...ANYWAY~ so we are driving home and I am listening on my radio to Family Life Network. I love that radio station!! If you click on that link...you can listen online!!

Well...when I turned it on..it was in the middle of a program. The speaker was Chip Ingram. I have never heard of him till today. Not sure if others have or not? Well....what he was speaking on was on the topic of "house or home?" and it dealt with a lot of stuff about what scripture says about the women's role and the man's roles in marriage.

Apparently...his broadcast ministry is called "Living on the Edge". I totally love how he talks and just really loved his thoughts on stuff. The part I heard was from "House or Home: Is there a woman in the house?" Part 1. Here is the introductory snippet from his site~

"The role of women has been changing for the past four decades, yet the question remains: "are women living more fulfilled lives today?" On today's edition of Living on the Edge, Chip Ingram provides a fresh perspective on this question - and his findings just may surprise you."

It is a wonderful, wonderful message about God's love for everyone and this was focusing on women and I really enjoyed it! I plan on listening to the other messages he has on his site! You can go HERE if you want to see a list of them!!! I really encourage you to listen to at least the one I heard. (the text is from Ephesians 5) Even if you just put it on while you are browsing websites or searching on ebay or cleaning around the room...turn it on your browser and just listen...you will be blessed!!!

I just really wanted to share that with you all. You never know...maybe YOU are the one who needs to hear this. You could be the reason I felt the pressing and urge to share this site on here!!! Enjoy and if you listen..please let me know...I would love to discuss it with you!!!! xoxo

Grow In Your Faith

So, i was reading in Unveiling Mary Magdalene by Liz Curtis Higgs...and I got to page 235 at the bottom and a couple of sentences she wrote really spoke to me. I want to share them with you!

"Jesus wants us to grow in faith, and we grow only when we come to the end of ourselves. That point where proof gives way and hope kicks in, where we can do nothing but wait upon God even when we cannot see, touch, taste, smell, or hear his presence." - Liz Curtis Higgs, Unveiling Mary Magdalene.

I just thought that those words were sooo powerful! When you feel alone and doubt kicks in....(and it has happened to most...if not all of us at one time or another)....all we can do is trust and have hope as we wait upon God. That is what having faith is all about. Believing and trusting that He is there. He does love us and that Jesus did die for us. We may not always understand things....especially some scriptures or why certain things had to happen...but God is there...he is Almighty and greather than we can even fathom. So...let's just trust...knowing He knows what is best and constantly thank Him for the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the lover and savior of our souls!

As Liz says:

"...we must let go of the God of our own understanding. And embrace the God Who Is."

"Our neat and tidy God-in-a-box ideas about Jesus must be put aside...."

Amen to that! Have hope....live in trust....grow in faith!
I can't wait to finish this book (I am so close) and start another Liz Curtis Higgs book soon!!! :)

No Lions, No Tigers...but a bear? YES! Oh My!

Here are those bear pics I promised! My SIL took them when we were at a picnic at my inlaws! Look how close that bear was to us! Sorry they are kinda blurry!

It would walk..then stop and look at us....then just keep walking! LOL

X was sooo scared! He was freaking out and crying...until he got in here...and then he said "if the bear comes..just close the back and I will be safe!" LOL!!!!

And a couple pics of the boys playing ball...hehe! X and then J! :) M wasn't there...she had gone away that weekend with my mom to visit my grammie.

I am nearing the end of the book I mentioned "Unveiling Mary Magdalene" by Liz Curtis Higgs....girls...GREAT book. Just great! I totally recommend it. She is so funny and just really makes things understandable! :) I love it!!! I can't wait to read more of her books! I really encourage you to check it out!

It looks like it is going to be a nice day here, today! I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday!!! xoxo

Cookout Fun!

We had a fire last night out back. It was so fun and nice! The weather was a bit chilly so perfect for cookout fun! Devon and her boyfriend, Cory were there too! I thought it was such a nice time and my sister (Devon) even made us some low points WW food. It was great!!! So I took a bunch of pics to share with you....they are in no particular order! LOL

A pic of me and Chris (he really is happy....LOL..i promise!):

One of Miss M in the wagon!!!

Devon and Cory! Aren't they so cute? hehe

OK...and this pic of Devon and Cory needs an explanation...LOL So I took the above pic..and they see it and Devon says to Cory"why am i always draped over you in all the pics?"...so Cory had me take another pic..where he was draped all over her....ROFL!!!!:

My best friend, Heather with J:

X pushing M in the wagon...isn't her face priceless?? LOL:

The 2 Chris'...mine refusing to look at me and the other chris taking a pic of me while I took a pic of them...LOL:

Little J....he was in a bad mood and didn't want his pic taken at the moment....LOL..check out that face and that lil arm swinging! Can we say 'TUDE? LOL:

Just a group pic of everyone!!!

OHHHH....and the girl who was going to meet me at the homeschool meeting i mentioned previously...her son had a bad fever last night and they had him at the ER...so she isn't going to the meeting today....so I won't be either...LOL. They'll have another meeting in a couple weeks!
I want to thank everyone for all your comments, ideas and suggestions in all my previous posts!!! I really appreciate it!!! Have a wonderful Monday! xoxo
