The Fall Festival was sooo fun!

We had a great time...but we are all sooo pooped! We all worked really hard. I was in charge of selling pumpkins, mums, cornstalks, bales of straw, and smoked dog bones (from the meat market). I also took care of registering any decorated scarecrows and pumpkins that came in for the contest! :) However...i DID get a couple minutes to browse all the vendors and i bought this super cute stool:



I am soooo tired...but wanted to make sure i got on and shared a couple pics! It was such a gorgeous day today too!!! PTL! ;) Also!!! I sold 12 (out of 14) of my popcorn balls that i made! How great is that??? I made $9! I was sooo thrilled!

Our day together and my GREAT find!

Chris and I had a wonderful day together yesterday. We went to sunday school and church...then after dropping the kids off with his parents...we went to Tall Oaks. A place that has a fall festival every weekend in Sept. and Oct. We didn't buy much or anything...but we had a really nice time just being together! :)

The other day....I was looking for a piece for my bathroom...and found this beautiful cart! It doesn't work in my bathroom but i got it for a really good price and it looks great in my living room! I still haven't found a good piece for in my bathroom yet. I have something in there for now that works...but definitely isn't my ideal plan for in there...yet! LOL oh...and let me add..i know..in that pic...the carpet in my living room is hideous. However...we built on an addition to our house and that is where our newer, bigger and better living room will be....but we haven't finished that room yet. And i don't feel like putting money into redoing this room yet since i am not sure what it will be when we move into the new living room...playroom? den? office? Not sure! :0)

It's my 7 yr Anniversary!

I am married to one of the most thoughtful and loving men in this world. I believe God brought us together and I feel truly blessed and lucky. Our lives aren't perfect but we get through everything together. We have sunday school and church today...but after that, i am not sure what we are doing. I wanted to go to a fall festival possibly...just chris and I. So we may do that...not totally sure. But I will be sure to blog about it later! I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

From the Word Friday!

"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness." ~ 2 Peter 1:3

So, i have most of my housework basically done for the week...sure, I have a few loads of laundry calling my name and some very general cleaning/picking up. But for the most part...my house looks good...so I think today...I will take the boys on a much deserved fun day. We'll pack up some lunches and go to the park and they can just play and play and play. I think my mom might meet us there...but i will probably take a book along as well depending on how long we stay! It is suppose to be a beautiful day today and the boys would enjoy it....as would I.

I thank God that I can sit in the beautiful fall air and breathe it in. I will probably pray while i am there too....what else can you do but thank and praise our wonderful creator for the blessings He has given us. We don't have a ton of money....but our house is full of a TON of blessings, love and comfort and I am reminded of that everytime the sun hits me on a beautiful day or I smell something comforting. Out of everything....comes a greater good. And when we are feeling low or sad or going through a really difficult time...we need to remember that. No matter what ~ You are a child of God....He made you. He loves you.

What a treat!

So, last evening, we made the popcorn caramel apples that I posted the recipe for earlier. They were good! It was quite messy but fun. I was fighting a pretty bad headache as was M, so it probably would have been more fun if we had all been feeling 100%...but ah well. We can always do it again sometime! They are definitely not the easiest things to eat either....but fun, nonetheless! Although J didn't decorate any.....he still got to eat some and he enjoyed that! We left all the decorating up to M and X!

A Little Glimpse Into My Dining Room!

My dining room. I love my dining room. We are redoing our house, one room at a time....and it was one we finished first (accept of course we still want new table and chairs and a new carpet...but we are waiting till the kids are a bit older for those things!) My mom helped me with some of the groupings...and some things I have done on my own! I thought i would show this since i LOVE my dining room...as well as to show my style of decorating for anyone else who may have a similar way of decorating! I picked just a couple of my favorite areas in the room to show!

My mom and I painted the walls with a cream paint underneath and used a plastic bag with a lil darker cream to make the textured look. We painted the shelf along the top which is blue. Then we hung a border directly under the shelf and a checked, beautiful wallpaper above the shelf. I hand made the star valances myself! It's very rewarding to be able to make something useful!

A start to my ramblings....

So, i thought it was about time i set up a blog for myself. A place where i can talk about my loves (Chris, my kids, my Lord, art, organization and country style decorating) and express myself freely! I have really been working on my home organization lately and have really been making awesome progress with things! I will post pictures of things and just blog my life here!

I am a 20-something wife to a wonderful man, Chris. We are Christians with strong values and beliefs. We have three beautiful children, who I homeschool. I enjoy being a stay at home wife and mother! I am a self proclaimed farm girl....although the only actual farm animals we have are chickens. :) We also have 3 dogs and a cat. I enjoy knitting and gardening, baking and reading. I spend time daily reading my Bible and in prayer. We bought an older home and are continually working on improvements to it! It's a fun...but long journey! :) I truly enjoy the simple things and am so thankful you have come to share in my life with me!
